The importance of drinking water

We living beings need water to live in this beautiful world. Water is one of the essential thing which we need to survive. Our body is mainly made up of water so it is important we replenish the water that we lose in the form of sweat, excretion etc.
The human body is made up of 80% of water which is present in the blood and cells. Since we lose lot of water in the form of sweat, urine and breath, its important to replenish those water. Drinking less water can cause problems like body cells become dry and skin starts to wrinkle. Blood becomes thicker and the heart has to make more effort to pump it in the body.

Also the blood is responsible for transportation of oxygen in the body, due to less water oxygen is not supplied to cells in the body. So water has to be taken sufficiently daily for the proper functioning of body.

Importance of water

  • Regulates body temperature: The body temperature is maintained by drinking water. People generally prefer to drink juices etc on hot conditions because it really cools us down and the main reason is that all the liquid items that we drink contains water. So drinking water is really important.
  • Brain is mainly composed of water: Our human brain is mainly composed of water. 75% of our brain is made up of water. So it is must for us to drink water to maintain our brain in a healthy condition.
  • Removal of wastes: Generally all living beings excrete the waste via urine. Water is the main source which carries the waste products and pushes those out of our body. So its important for us to stay hydrated.
  • Water in blood and muscles: Our blood is made up of 83 % of water and our muscles is made up of 75 % of water. So it is important for us to drink lots of water so as to maintain good blood flow.
  • Cushion for bones and joints: Our bones are made up of 22 % of water. Also water also provide cushion in the joints. So it that important for us to take in sufficient amount of water.

So from seeing these facts its important for us to drink enough water. 3 to 4 liter of water per day would do really good. (452)
